Many people feel guilty that they are not as happy as they “should be” and feel a deep longing for something “more.” The most common attempt to remedy this is to look externally for something to fill this void. The truth is that this is an inside job. Notice that feeling of frustration and discontent. This dissonance is often the motivator to get us thinking about taking some action.
“Happiness is not something ready made. It comes from your own actions.” ~Dalai Lama XIV
ACTION STEP 1: Treat everyone with kindness, including yourself.
It’s been scientifically proven that kindness makes you happier. Most of us aren’t kind to ourselves. Can you look inside and see where this is true for you and try to change your inner dialogue to sound more like you would speak to your closest friend? Be gentle. Everyone is doing the best that they can, including you.
Start a discussion below! How about you…are you kind to yourself? Can you be kinder?
